Winners from Year Two of the Hello Tomorrow Fund will be announced every Tuesday through April 7, 2009.
At Avon, we believe that empowering women can be the most effective way to improve society and change our world. For over 120 years we have provided economic opportunity for women worldwide, often in places and at
times when employment options were limited. Given the resources, women can impact their lives, their families and their communities in meaningful ways. Women can change our world.
In this spirit, Avon created the Hello Tomorrow Fund in early 2007, with programs in a dozen countries. Here in the US, every week since April 15, 2007, $5,000 has
been awarded to an individual to help realize a program, project or idea to empower women. In 2009 the US program will evolve with an exciting new format. At the same time, the final winners who applied for the US award under the original guidelines will continue to be announced every Tuesday through April 7, 2009.

Rachel Armour, 27, has been selected to win the weekly $5,000 Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund award for January 6, 2009. Rachel will use her award to support i Control Power Girls, a program which seeks to improve literacy and teach motivational speaking skills to girls in the impoverished Key West community of Bahama Village. She will use the funds to pay for curriculum materials, a video camera and editing software, and a laptop to use for the weekly lessons.
