In 1886–the same year the Statue of Liberty was dedicated as a symbol of independence–David H. McConnell, a traveling book salesman, sparked a beauty revolution. What began with simple perfume samples soon grew into the California Perfume Company, which later became Avon. Today we celebrate 140 years of innovation, opportunity, and beauty for all.
