In the Project Runway premiere episode’s Red Carpet Challenge, makeup artist Hector Simancas dreamt up a fresh take on traditional smoky eyes using warm shades of orange and bronze in place of the typical charcoal and black. He called it “Sunset Eyes,” and just like its namesake, it’s gorgeous, Instagram-worthy, and totally hot. Here’s how to recreate it.
Grab the Avon True Color 8-in-1 Eyeshadow palette in Smoky Nights, which comes stocked with eight velvety shadows ranging from beige to purple to gold. Start by dipping your brush in the bronze shade and swipe it all over your lids.
Load up a small eyeshadow brush with the burnt orange shade from the same palette and apply it along the creases of your eyes to the outer corners, where you can really go to town and add it a bit more heavily. Brush that same orange under your lower lashline, too, then blend it all well.
Trace along your upper lashlines and in the waterlines under your eyes with Avon True Color Glimmersticks Diamonds Eye Liner in Sugar Plum.
Define your brows and keep them in place all day with Avon True Color Perfect Eyebrow Styling Duo in Soft Brown, which contains a colored powder to shape your arches and fill in any sparse spots, plus a wax for long-lasting hold.
Apply Avon True Color Lipstick in Tender Kiss—a pretty, flattering pink—by lightly tapping it onto your lips. (This gives a softer, more subtle effect.)
No look is complete without lots of lashes, so finish by swiping on a few coats of Avon True Color SuperExtend Nourishing Mascara in Black.
