Call it a lipstick-defining moment. In Beauty for a Purpose’s Kiss & Tell series, real beauties – from entrepreneurs to boldface names – share the inspiring stories behind their most triumphant moments while wearing a favorite confidence-boosting shade.

Having discovered her love of fashion at a young age, blogger Christine Andrew founded Hello Fashion to showcase current trends in fresh ways while offering style inspiration and advice. The popular online destination is a virtual treasure trove for fashion-savvy readers who thrive on viewing the latest finds. Her unique style: classic and edgy, feminine and masculine, with a dose of global influence (as a nod to her Latin roots). Born in South America, she’s lived in all corners of the U.S., and now resides in Utah with her family.

Christine’s Story

“I had an important meeting last summer with a brand that I had been really eager to work with. It was important to make a good impression but still be myself. I think a lipstick can create that effect sometimes even more than clothes can. I wanted to wear a shade that I felt confident and comfortable in but was still warm and cheery, so I went with one of my favorite colors: a hot pink matte lip.

I love matte lips because it adds such a rich hue to the pigment and makes the color really stand out. Because I’m half Colombian, I’ve always been drawn to that classic dark hair/bright lip combo. It was bold and summery, but also friendly and approachable. And I landed the project, so I guess it worked!”
