As a pioneer in the beauty industry, we have always believed that beauty is for all, no matter your skin color, hair type, or body type. We pride ourselves in celebrating a diverse community. As we mark the commencement of Black History Month, we are honored to spotlight and celebrate our Black Representatives and colleagues who make life beautiful every day.

I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother. I’m a retired manager from AT&T. Avon is my retirement gig that I started after retirement. I love the opportunity Avon gives me to learn, meet new people, and step outside my comfort zone.

I was a third generation Avon customer. Becoming an Avon Representative was an easy decision because I knew the reception the products would get. I appreciate the opportunities Avon has allowed me: networking, personal and financial empowerment/development.

I began my Avon journey in 1992. I was a single mom looking to earn additional income. My great Aunt was the first African-American Avon Representative in our area. She sold [Avon products] for 50-plus years. She encouraged me to give Avon a try. Never did I know that a $10 investment would change my life. I have been able to design the life I always imagined. Helping people turn dreams into reality has been the driving force in my business.

I started [selling] Avon to take care of my mom. Then, I had a change in my income. Avon provided me with an avenue to make extra money needed to also put my children through college. With Avon's help, I was able to fill my mom's financial gap and put my children through college debt free. My next target is to do Avon full-time.

I'm a recent empty nester. My son and daughter were raised on Avon products that I sold to make extra income when they were younger. They still use the products today! I grew up on Avon products like Skin So Soft and signed up to become a Representative for the discount when I couldn't find an Avon [Representative]. In the last few years, I've grown my team and also earned my first [Avon incentive trip] to Hawaii last year. Avon has been a positive part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I am a proud father of two children and a husband. I believe in applying consistency in action and a positive mindset to my [daily life] and Avon business. I love my business and my team. I love my amazing customers and always strive to provide excellent customer service to them with a smile. I love to travel. I love to take photos. I love riding bikes with my family. I enjoy inspiring and helping others grow. And I am in love with Skin So Soft!

Avon is a household name in my family. My grandmother and great-aunts introduced me to Avon as a child; this taught me in my early years that it's okay to treat yourself to things that bring you joy. I was ecstatic once I had an opportunity in the Human Resources field to work for a company whose legacy was built on empowering women by providing employment opportunities, promoting self-care, and wanting women to bring the best versions of themselves in every space. Self-care and body positivity is something I practise in my daily life, with my husband, my daughter (when she listens) and family. My journey with self-care is ongoing; I'm still learning and exploring ways to enhance my physical and mental being.

I am from Pinola, MS. My husband and I have three sons and two beautiful granddaughters. I retired on March 29, 2019, and began working my Avon business full-time. I can say by having more time to work on my business, it is growing. I didn't know at the time that [becoming an Avon Representative] would lead to so many accomplishments, rewards, and all-expense-paid trips (I call [them] vacations). I am proud to be a Representative and mentoring others to do what I do.
