At Avon, our mission is to celebrate women’s power to make a beautiful and positive impact in the world. Giving back to causes we believe in is at our core, and we’re passionately involved in the fight against breast cancer.
We like to think pink. Since 1992, The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade has engaged Representatives and customers through special pink ribbon products, informative brochures and campaigns, with the goal of encouraging them to take action for their own well being.
Together, we’ve contributed more than $800 million to breast cancer causes, educated 180 million women about breast health and funded breast health screenings for nearly 20 million women. We’ve participated in campaigns like Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye—in which we launched a collection of fundraising lipsticks. In 2003, we founded Avon 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer, our own 39-mile walk through Manhattan and Brooklyn. The walk continued for 14 years, with each one garnering thousands of participants and raising millions of dollars.
The ongoing collection of Pink Hope products is at the heart of our product line—including our best-selling Avon True Color Nourishing Lipstick and inspirational fashion and jewelry. Fifteen percent of the sales of Avon Pink Hope products—estimated to be about $700,000 for 2020—will benefit the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and services.
Our support for breast cancer causes has continued to grow. In 2018, we became the national presenting sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks. These events unite communities to honor those touched by the disease and raise awareness and funds for a world without breast cancer. We became involved in these walks to help the American Cancer Society fund innovative research, provide education and guidance to help people reduce their risk, and offer comprehensive patient support to those who need it most. Our efforts have also helped provide thousands of rides to and from treatment, as well as complimentary and reduced-cost lodging to thousands of patients who had to travel for treatment.
We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with the American Cancer Society and hope to surpass our goals each year. We believe in the power of pink!
