In Her Words: Celebrating Mother-Daughter Avon Representatives
Avon has given women the opportunity to earn supplemental income for 135 years, long before women even had the right to vote. This Mother’s Day, we are spotlighting Representatives whose Avon journey is inspired by the women in their life.
WOMEN AS INSPIRATION
Lydia Osolinsky, a Platinum Executive Leader from San Jose, CA, became a Representative after watching her mother grow a career out of selling Avon.
“My mom was a Representative throughout my childhood, and her success with Avon was monumental,” she says.
Today, Lydia and her brother lead the 2nd largest Avon team. Lydia’s favorite part about selling Avon is helping inspire other women—her daughters included.
“I help women find products that reflect their strength, and every day I help women build their own businesses on their terms,” she explains. “Just like I did, my girls are growing up watching what it means to be your own boss.”
ALL IN THE FAMILY
Marcella Tabares and her mother, Alba, are both Avon Representatives and members of the President’s Club. Though they live in different states, both of them enjoy being their own boss and empowering other women.
“Avon has been a huge enabler for me as a businesswoman, a wife and a mother,” says Alba, who is a Gold Executive Leader. “It has given me so much flexibility and autonomy on how I run my life.”
Marcella, a Gold Ambassador, says she loves being part of a team and is proud to work with a company that champions female empowerment.
“How amazing is it that Avon was around before women had the right to vote, and has been creating opportunities for women to make extra income and work alongside some of the most resilient individuals! It’s amazing to me that I can have teammates all over the nation and collaborate in ways that my mom wasn’t able to when she joined Avon 20 years ago,” she explains.
LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER
Ivanna Diaz Hansen started her Avon journey after watching her mother, Sandra, work hard as a Representative.
“I saw firsthand the impact my mom’s Avon business had on our family,” says Ivanna. “She shared with me the importance of building something of my own.”
Sandra, a Bronze Executive Leader, educated her daughter on what she considers important pillars of Avon—freedom, friendship, fantastic products and fun. To Sandra, selling Avon is much more than just a business. It means cultivating customer relationships, enjoying and sharing products, and taking advantage of a flexible schedule to not only maximize earning potential, but also enjoy time with family. Ivanna, a Bronze Leader, is constantly inspired by her mother and considers her a catalyst in her success with Avon.
“She’s helped me to see my potential and motivates me to further my skills,” explains Ivanna. “I am so very grateful to have my mom as my mentor and business partner!”
