Call it a lipstick-defining moment. In Beauty for a Purpose’s Kiss & Tell series, real beauties – from entrepreneurs to boldface names – share the inspiring stories behind their most triumphant moments while wearing a favorite confidence-boosting shade.

Fans may recognize Megan Alexander, a national news correspondent for Inside Edition and special correspondent for CBS, from her days reporting on the field for primetime Thursday Night Football. Beyond her time behind the scenes at the Super Bowl and the red carpet, the host, emcee and actress splits her time between N.Y.C. and Nashville, Tennessee, as a wife and mom of two young boys. Up next? Alexander will appear in the upcoming movie Poker Night. She’s also writing a book about empowering young girls to pursue their dreams without compromising their values—an approach of which she’s living proof.

Megan’s Story

“When I was six months pregnant at a huge red carpet event in Las Vegas, I was wearing a gorgeous gold dress and just felt like I needed a little something extra that night. So instead of my signature nude lip, I wore a bright purple. I got tons of compliments. A great lipstick makes you feel bold, confident and creative. It’s fun without being too crazy. It makes the occasion feel special and fancy. A pop of color always works!”
